Playing with paper!

I'm trying to develop characters, I suppose with children's books in mind.
After drawing, printing, burning leather etc I'm enjoying cutting up ex-library books and creating creatures....here's my first two!

I've just started a distance course in Children's Book Illustration and am fiddling about working on the first brief, here's bits from my sketchbook which include monoprints, lino prints and drawing.....just got to do the whole composition as a double spread.

I've recently become interested in illustration - mainly children's books, I suppose through reading with my own children and seeing them draw.

I'm going to start collecting images of my favourites, new and old, so watch this space!
